"Save resources with Green Tech and win the contest."

Foundries save material and energy with innovative inlay tubes
Expert conference "GreenTech" gets involved in resource efficiency

The South Westphalien Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Hagen in Germany (SIHK) invited to an expert conference about the topic "Save resources with Green Tech and win the contest" on May 6th 2011. With the increase of the resource efficiency as well as the development of efficient products and equipment companies can reduce their costs drastically, says the SIHK President Harald Rutenbeck. It is thereby possible that companies can adjust to the new market requirements. Rutenbeck states that numerous companies have already adapted and optimized established processes: "The companies strongly prepares for increasing energy and raw material prices with investing intensively into environmentally friendly technologies."

Drahtzug Stein combicore supports these efforts with innovative casting cores and presented in a 30 min lecture its advantages and its benefit for foundries. They make a near end outline casting with remarkable material savings, so says speaker Frank Heppes. At the same time thin-walled aluminum tubes can be used instead of heavy steel tubes, points Heppes and emphasizes that combicore inlay tubes can be easily flushed with water.

During the exhibit the visitors were able to simultaneously view the tube stability as well as convince themselves about the advantages of this new process. Those tubes keep their form even with a casting pressure of more than 1,000 bar. Foundries can build channels for oil, water and other liquids or gases.

Drahtzug Stein combicore was awarded with the material efficiency award by the German Federal Ministry of Economics in 2010 and was also amongst the top 30 of Innovation Champions of the NoAE contest (Network of Automotive Excellence).
